This is such as versatile sweet coffee that it tastes lovely brewed up just how you like it". Grown at 1,800 metres above sea level on our family farm Capilla del Rosario in Antioquia, Colombia, this rare Laurina (Bourbon Pointu) is one of the world’s most delicate and sought-after coffee varieties.Honey processed with care, the cup is fragrant and floral, revealing notes of honey, almond, ripe berries, caramel and citrus. Smooth, silky, and naturally low in caffeine (around 50% less than typical Arabica), Laurina offers an elegant sweetness and clean, lingering finish. A rare and remarkable coffee At 1,800 MASL, on the slopes of our family farm Capilla del Rosario, we grow one of the most unique coffees in Colombia: Laurina Honey. We are proud to be among only three farms in Antioquia cultivating this extraordinary variety — a natural mutation of Bourbon known for its low caffeine and refined sweetness. The process Our Honey Process begins with hand-selecting only the ripest cherries. After floating to remove defects, the cherries are pulped without water, preserving natural sugars. The seeds then undergo a 72-hour dry fermentation in airtight tanks to develop rich complexity, before drying slowly on raised beds for 12–15 days. Each lot is turned by hand for even drying and full flavour development. In the cup Expect a fragrant, floral aroma with hints of honey and almond. The taste is nutty and fruity, with notes of ripe berries, caramel, and citrus. It finishes clean and silky, with a honey-like sweetness that lingers long after your last sip. A story of rediscovery Also known as Bourbon Pointu, Laurina originated on the Bourbon Islands (now Réunion) in the Indian Ocean.Once nearly lost, it was rediscovered in Costa Rica in 2006, inspiring a new generation of coffee growers.Laurina’s naturally low caffeine — about 50% less than most Arabicas — evolved at high altitudes where the plant produced less caffeine over time. The result is a coffee as elegant as it is fascinating: gentle, bright, and effortlessly complex.
