History Of Mantiqueira De Minas Located of the Minas Face of Serra de Mantiqueira, in the south of the state of Minas Gerais, is the region of Mantiqueira de Minas, a well known producer of high quality Arabica. With centuries-old tradition in coffee growing, at altitudes between 900 and 1500m, it has the ideal climate and environment for the production of specialty coffee. In this area, coffee growing is in its fifth generation. Comprised of 25 municipalities, the region has 8095 producers, 82% of which are small producers, making a total of 57,000 hectares, with an average annual production of 1,370,000 60kg bags.
