FARM HISTORY Café Granja La Esperanza is a multi-generational family project that began in 1924 and is now led by third-generation producers Luis and Rigoberto Herrera. Operating five farms across the Andes, including the high-altitude Cerro Azul estate, the Herrera family is globally recognized for cultivating rare varietals and pioneering innovative processing methods. Their relentless pursuit of excellence has shaped some of the world’s most celebrated competition coffees, including a World Brewers Cup–winning lot in 2023.
