Etno Cafe began in Wrocław in 2012 as a small roastery supplying coffee to offices, growing out of a friendship with Ethiopian coffee grower Natnael Hamda, and opened its first café under the Etno Cafe name in 2015. It now roasts beans from Ethiopia, Brazil, and Colombia.
