The autumn/winter run of Naecaf has been sourced from our wonderful friends in Colombia, Cofinet. Decaf fan or not, we are sure everyone will love this. This coffee is the result of the hard work of 65 growers situated in the shelter of the Andes mountain range in Popayan. Expect a balanced cup with orchard fruit, a floral undercurrent and caramel notes. This coffee has undergone the unique sugar cane decaffeination process. The green beans are put into a steam chamber where the silver skin is removed from the bean. After this, the beans are submerged in spring water and as soon as the coffee is saturated with water it is sent to the extractors where the beans have direct contact with sugar cane ethyl acetate for 8 hours which dissolves the caffeine content. Then the decaffeinated coffee is dried in a chamber to reach the same moisture content it had prior to the process. This process enhances sweetness while maintaining coffee attributes. More Info?
