Weekenders Coffee was started as a cafe in Kyoto's Sakyo ward in 2005 by Masahiro and Ayumi Kaneko, shifting its focus mainly to roasting from 2011. Its Tominokoji location, housed in a restored machiya townhouse, opened in 2016, and Kaneko roasts light-to-medium profiles that emphasize natural sweetness.
