The Roas-tree Club This Brazilian coffee was sourced from Daterra with whom we've launched The Roas-tree Club, a sustainability initiative that promises to plant and maintain 1 tree for the next decade, for every 20kg of coffee we have bought from them. Our aim is to plant at least 20,000 but the sky is the limit. The World Economic Forum announced that a trillion trees needed to be planted by 2030 to help the mitigate the causes of climate change. With your help, this is how we hope solve it. Daterra is also a carbon-negative coffee producer, and have been kind enough to pass on the offset to us with every lot of coffee bought, meaning we are also offsetting our carbon footprint too. About Blackwall Collection A new face on our webshop, Blackwall Collection brings you the best of the traditional Cerrado style coffee like notes of chocolate with a sweet and nutty finish. It makes a full bodied espresso, a perfect base to blend with a milk of your choice or even as a filter. Also known as "Cerrado Natural", this process means that the cherries were left on the trees for a longer time, allowing them to go through the full maturation process and dry while still attached to the branch. This processing technique is only possible if the weather is very dry and stable during harvest - in fact, in many regions, allowing coffee to dry on the tree could be a big problem: the excess moisture can contribute to fungal growth and other micro-organisms. Because of Cerrado's unique traits, this process is possible - which is great, as it brings very positive attributes to the cup: tree-dried naturals are usually characterised by a heavy body and extra-intense sweetness.
