Santo Grão was founded in 2003 by Marco Kerkmeester, who sourced beans directly from Brazilian coffee-growing regions before building the brand into a chain of cafés in São Paulo and Curitiba. In 2019 the company opened its own roasting facility, Experientia, in Cotia in partnership with Fernando Dourado.
