Common Man Coffee Roasters (CMCR) opened in 2013 on Martin Road as a joint venture between Spa Esprit's Cynthia Chua, Australian Harry Grover and the Five Senses team from Perth, and quickly grew into one of Singapore's most-cited specialty pioneers. CMCR roasts on a Diedrich at its Martin Road HQ and runs an SCA Premier Training Campus that has produced a long list of national barista champions. The seasonal menu rotates Ethiopian and Latin American single origins alongside the Independence house espresso blend.
