Fuglen began as a Norwegian coffee shop in Oslo in 1963 under the name Kaffefuglen. Fuglen Tokyo opened in 2012 as the brand's first overseas location, and a dedicated Tokyo roastery followed in 2014 to supply the shop directly rather than shipping beans from Oslo.
