China Banka

Banka is back and better than ever. This year, we’re showcasing the natural process, a vibrant shift from the washed lot we’ve shared before. The result? A cup bursting with character! Think juicy maraschino cherries, ripe tropical fruits and a playful hit of gummy sweets. It’s bold and adventurous, yet beautifully balanced from start to finish. Banka Farm and Washing Station takes its name from the nearby villages of Banka Yi and Banka Er, where the coffee is grown. Our partners, Yunnan Coffee Traders, manage the wet mill and around 100 hectares of the farm. Known for their innovation, they’ve introduced one of the region’s first optical sorters, explored advanced techniques like yeast fermentation and cultivated distinctive varieties such as Pacamara and Yellow Bourbon. Cherries are hand-picked, carefully sorted and fermented for around two days before drying on raised beds and being hulled, ensuring quality at every step.
