Returning for its second year in the Thomson’s line-up, we’re proud to again be working with our friends at Raw Material to release the fresh harvest of this incredibly versatile and high quality washed co-operative blend from Rwanda. The Vunga Cooperative is a women-led, well-established small cooperative in the Nyabihu District of Rwanda. The Cooperative has been in operation since 2009, and has become a very well-known washing station with a reputation for producing extremely high-quality coffee. In 2012, Vunga placed 13th in the Rwanda Cup of Excellence, and 4th in 2014. Vunga’s producers receive bonus second payments as well as health insurance through the Cooperative, and the support of the community has enabled them to rebuild and continue after environmental disasters like landslides and persistent rainfall.
