Coffee In Ethiopia: The Birthplace Of Coffee The Perfect Coffee Growing Climate Coffee grown at higher altitudes takes signficantly longer to mature. This is due to reduced CO2 density in the atmosphere, as well as cooler tempertures. This slower growth promoties the development of more complex sugars and acids in the bean. With an average growing altitude of between 1400 – 2200masl, Ethiopian coffees offer a wide variety of complex flavour profiles. They are often floral, fruity & sweet in character. The Producer: Daye Bensa Daye Bensa was established in 1996 by two coffee producing brothers- Assefa & Mulugeta Dukamo. For 10 years their efforts were focussed on producing and supplying coffee, in 2006 they started to export for the global market. In 2018 they made changes to internal procedures to allow for significant expansion and enhance quality of production. This paid dividends as Daye Bensa were Cup Of Excellence winners for three consecutive years from 2020 – 2022. Add to Favourites Add to Favourites
