Blackboard was founded by Andrew Cibej in 2013 in Toowong, Brisbane, and quickly built a reputation as one of South-East Queensland's most adventurous specialty roasters. The Toowong roastery-café is paired with sister venues across Brisbane, and the team is a regular fixture at AUS Brewers Cup and Barista Championship finals. Blackboard is unusually willing to feature high-end micro-lots on the menu — Panama Geisha from Lerida and Hartmann, Colombian co-fermenteds, Ethiopian Sidamo naturals.
