From the highlands of northern Peru comes La Pluma Dorada, a distinctive coffee produced by Andy Llanos Delgado, a third-generation coffee farmer dedicated to innovation and quality. After inheriting the family farm, Andy has led an ambitious renovation, introducing new coffee varieties and experimental processing techniques that elevate the potential of the Colasay region. The farm is home to a rich diversity of cultivars, including Bourbon, Tabi, and a small plot of Geisha, reflecting Andy’s forward-thinking approach. This particular lot features the Tabi variety—a hybrid of Typica, Bourbon, and Timor Hybrid developed in Colombia for its resistance to leaf rust and excellent cup quality. In Andy’s hands, Tabi reveals its full potential, offering a cup with notes of poached pear, caramel, and milk chocolate, along with the variety’s hallmark bright acidity with a clean and balanced finish. La Pluma Dorada is a testament to the exciting innovation taking place in Peruvian specialty coffee—ideal for those seeking a unique and expressive origin experience. Roast Level: light-medium We roast the coffee to a light level so it is perfect for filter coffee drinkers who like a full-bodied coffee with a bright acidity and floral complexity found in the Geisha varietal.
