Ethiopia Yirgacheffe
23 AUD
Smooth dark chocolate leads the cup, with a gentle lift of peach and apricot through the finish. A long standing grower relationship sits behind this beautiful Ethiopian coffee. Profile Region: Kochore, Yirgacheffe Altitude: 1400-2400 masl Growing: Shade grown Harvest: September - December Varietal: Typica, Heirloom Guji Process: Fully Washed Origin story When first approached by World Vision to partner with them on this project we liked the idea. Once we had tasted Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Hama, we LOVED it! What a pleasure to be able to support World Vision in their work in Ethiopia, and support these farmers by enjoying one of the most beautiful coffees we have ever come across. A percentage of our profits from sales of this coffee has been returned directly back into the area development project with HAMA Coop, at Kochore in Yirgacheffe. Our Yirgacheffe is an elegant well structured, all consuming coffee experience. It starts with immediate sweet stone fruit, nectarine or apricot, then gains austerity in the mid palate with toasted almonds and soft milk chocolate to smooth the way for sip after sip. As a long black…memorable, and the amazing flavours just last longer. Brewed as a filter this coffee is sweet and delicate and enhances the very high altitude character with clean finesse and assurance you are drinking an ancient bean. Brew recipe • Home espresso ratio: 1:2 Commercial espresso: 21 grams Extraction: 42 grams Time: 30 Seconds Temp: 90 degrees Filter coffee-to-water: 1:16 or 1:17
